Ya'll, guess what came today! Guess! My free for only $14.95 coffee pot, carafe, travel mug and two 1/2 pounds of coffee. It came today. Dear Hubby saw the UPS truck coming down our road and jokingly said, "Here comes your free coffee pot!" And I said,"No way. No stinkin' way!" And we were SHOCKED when said truck came rumbling up our driveway. D.H. went out to meet the guy and came in grinning ear to ear with a box clearly advertising the brand we bought from. I kept saying, "No stinkin' way! No stinkin' way!" Ya'll we were suppose to get this in four to six weeks. It took four days. DAYS, friends. Days.
And as silly as this may be, do you know what verse came to mind? We've discussed it already this month. The verse in Isaiah that says, "I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly." I laughed when I told the D.H., but you do know what? There was a lump in my throat the size of Montana because I just knew, just KNEW, that our great God was telling me, "If I can bring you a coffee pot you didn't pay for in less time than it takes to process a normal online order, can I not bring employment to you too? Will you not trust that I am moving as swiftly as circumstances and humans will allow me to move? Do you not see how capable I am to do anything and everything I please? TRUST ME. I'm worth it."
That may be the most absurd thing you have ever read, relating God to a coffee advertisement gone crazy, but for me... this was my sign today-for me-on a day when I was desperate for a measure of blind faith to believe what I claim I believe. So now, as I sit and drink my imported coffee (God save the King)from my "free" coffee pot, I can see it as a visible sign of the invisible hand of God, working on my behalf, as quickly as I can get out of His way.
Praise be...
