Proud As Punch

My baby is reading a book to her class today. I wish I could be there to watch, record it, give her smiles of encouragement. She was nervous. To my knowledge, she’s never read a book before, let alone in front of her peers. She said this morning, “Mom, if they laugh at me I’ll just say to them, ‘I don’t blame you for laughing at me.’ And that way they’ll know I am being brave.” Does that not just break your heart or what?

Are you proud of your kids for anything recently? Anything they’ve done (or haven’t done?) that just blew your heart to three times it’s size for all the pride busting inside? Brag here. Let me know!

  1. I love Rachel - she is so brave! What a smart, precious little girl. You have done a wonderful job with her. Just a note, tonight Meghan ask if we see God. Then during prayers amazed me when after she asked God to help her be obedient and listen she told me that was the last sin in her heart. Oh my precious girl, how I wish that was true. How I wish it was that easy!Robn

  2. Rachel is so sweet. I would have to say I'm proud of my kids every day for all of the stuff they face at school and they are still good kids. Boy it is tough out there.
