No title again...what do you think? Too risky? Too undefinable? Its okay. You can tell me the truth.

Last night Rachel and I were on our way to visit a loved one in the hospital. My mind was distracted with wondering how Rachel would take being there, having to wear a mask (due to H1N1, the hospitals have banned anyone under 18 from entering, unless you are a patient. They made an exception for Rachel only if she promised to wear a mask the whole time.) seeing this loved one in the hospital...I was distracted. Until I heard my sweet baby girl singing words to a song that made me shudder. And wonder if, perhaps, not filtering the radio selections is a bad thing. You see, my sweet, sweet, pure as sugar cane baby was singing with all the gusto she could muster and still be restrained by her safety belt:

"Save a horse, ride a cowboy. Save a horse, ride a cowboy."

Uh-hem.

  1. Although we are SO proud and excited about Ryan's new ability for verbal language, we are often chagrined by his pronunciation.

The other day I was encouraging him to remain at the table until he finished lunch. We find short, concise instructions work best so I said to him "Ryan, please sit." He stopped hopping and running about long enough to look me right in the eye and say "No sh*t, Mama." before he scampered off again. I will mention this to his speech therapist, I think.......
