Well, it's been a bit depressing over here so I thought we'd liven it up a bit. Or at least, lighten it up a bit.
I am in love. With salad dressing. And not just any salad dressing. Girard's White Balsamic Vinaigrette. Mercy. And glory. Glooooooooooory.
Yesterday I made up probably one of the best salads I've had in quite some time. Romaine hearts, cukes (I like the english kind), one of my kid's string cheese cut up into bites and a golden delicious apple in slices topped with this heaven-sent dressing. M-E-R-C-Y. I think I moaned joyfully at every bite. Perhaps the only thing that would have made it better would have been dried cranberries or sugared pecans...or both.
Now, I have a sweet sweet friend who wouldn't touch a vegetable if her life depended on it (I love you friend!) and so for her, this post is probably worse than the swearing one...or the one about the poop. (My, I am rather varied in my vulnerability on here, aren't I!) So, if you care nothing about salads, ignore. But, if you are a salad lover, or even a salad liker, try this dressing. Its great on everything and gives it just the right amount of zing without too much overload.
And try apples in your salad. Who would have thought. Or maybe I'm just WAY behind on the times and ya'll already new this wonderful treat was so varied?
What new and wonderful things have you found recently that just made your taste buds praise the Lord? Let me know...I'm all about some good food. :-)
