How Great And Mighty Is Our God

My apologies for the quiet in bloggy land. We had out-of-town family in last week, went to the Deeper Still Conference (more on that later) got a head cold and am in the process of packing my family for a trip to see more out of town family. Did I mention we’re driving? For 12 hours? And I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old? I’m just saying….

So my prayers have been second –blurbs “Lord, please make this head congestion go away.” “Father tame my reaction to be equal to the infraction so I don’t make my daughter hate me.” “Lord where in the world did I put that load of laundry?!” “God, what am I suppose to cook for supper?” “Please heal my body and give me strength to endure the mundane of today.” And on and on my continuous prayers went up over the last few days. And I am so thankful that God is small enough to hear those prayers, laugh at and with them, and answer them. Knowing He cares THAT much makes me love Him all the more.

But then this morning I watched in tears on TV the coming home of reporters Laura Ling and Euna Lee from their four month captivity in North Korea. Emotion-filled reunion with tears and laughter and hugs and kisses. And as I watched I whispered, “Thank You God for releasing those women and bringing them home safely. Thank You that that little girl has her momma back.” And I was washed afresh in the realization of how HUGE and MAGNANIMOUS our God is. While He was busy tending to the safe release and return of those women, He was listening to my prayers of cough relief. He heard both. He answered both. THAT’S our God, friends. THAT’S our God.

Praise Him today!
